and for those who think Cruz is whatever, better, puke

Gay Republican confronts Ted Cruz on live TV: ‘What would you do to protect me and my husband?

Blogger Andy Towle pointed out that “Cruz dodged the question” from the gay restaurant owner.

“So pizza show owner Calogne was left hanging – his question wasn’t answered, because there is NOTHING Cruz will do to protect him and his husband. Nothing,” Towle wrote. “And that, of course, leaves everyone with another question: Todd, why the hell are you voting Republican?”

If straight said men could be trusted not to do bad things to women, we wouldn’t be having any of these conversations. As a Christian I’m disappointed that we aren’t talking about that in our churches and on campaign trails, or making bold public statements about that. I’m profoundly sad that high-profile evangelists and pastors aren’t facing this real monster with the same sustained ferocity they attack an imagined one with.
Women are in exponentially higher danger of being sexually assaulted by a boyfriend or a classmate than a stranger in a bathroom and it isn’t even close.

7) I don’t want bad guys in the bathroom with my daughter either.

I’ve just researched enough to know that nothing about this legislation has any bearing on that desire. I’ve realized that the greatest danger to her isn’t the LGBTQ community or public restroom use, it’s straight guys who can’t control themselves wherever they are.
I know I can’t legislate the world so that she has no contact with these men at school, out shopping, at fraternities, at church, on band trips, at work, in relationships—those places where she is most in danger of being assaulted. All I can do is teach her, guide her, and try to create a less horrible world for her to walk into.

and women, how about that Kasich

John Kasich Confused About Why Women Objected To His Sexual Assault Victim-Blaming Comments

“I don’t care if there’s a party with alcohol. I’m just saying be careful! That’s what I would tell my daughters,” he added, continuing to embrace the disproved myththat that there is a direct link between rape and alcohol consumption.

Women get sexually assaulted NOT because of how they dress, what they drink, if they go to parties or get their education on college campuses like Harvard, where they are not allowed to join elite just for men club because they “would not be safe,” or anything that women do or do not do like say NO REPEATEDLY… it is because boys and men in this country are taught that it is just fine and dandy and they will MOST LIKELY NOT GET INCARCERATED if and when THEY do not keep their hands to themselves, do not keep THEIR pants zipped, and rape and assault women sexually, just go right ahead. All of the blaming the victim does is discriminate and abuse and hate women and does NOTHING BUT ENCOURAGE RAPISTS who have MORE RIGHTS THAN WOMEN IN THIS COUNTRY.

“Sexual harassment is a subtle rape, and rape is more about fear than sex,” said Dr. John Gottman, a psychologist at the University of Washington. “Harassment is a way for a man to make a woman vulnerable.”

“Women don’t cause rape by what they wear. Asking about correlation between clothing and rape is tricky, though.

“To make clear, sexual assault is never the victim’s fault. Someone has to act to commit rape. No one forces that choice. If seeing an enticing woman led men to conclude, “I’ve got to rape her,” all men would be rapists. Yet few are.

“And plenty of assaulted women are not dressed sexily, including women draped in head-to-toe burqas. Interestingly, veiled women are blamed, too: “He must have seen a bit of her ankle, wrist, hair, neck… Who could resist!?”

Clearly they think Americans are ignorant.  And some are and some are lazy and reacting with knees jerking, and some despite all reason and logic and education to the contrary stubbornly hold onto old beliefs, so for those, I’VE GOT A BRIDGE TO SELL YOU.

Sex, money and the GOP

Hint hint hint… it’s ALL about votes and catering to the crippled by hypocrisy bigots, honophobic people who are terrified of their own attraction to the same sex, the more they fear their feelings, the louder they cry. Look at the child molesters of young men in the GOP party itself, For instance, Dennis Hastert who is accused of molesting four young men and who now is supposedly going free due to a statute of limitations. Once upon a time, he called for child molesters to be put in jail for life. Oh well, those rules do not apply to the GOP.

“Somewhere along the way, so much of Evangelical Christianity began to fixate on sex for the same reason the porn industry does: it gets people excited and it generates lots of money.

…Jesus never would have wasted time with denominational splits or withheld wedding cakes or policing bathrooms (at least not on the side many Christians suspect). He was about the far greater, far more pressing, far more costly work of love and justice.

…The only time Jesus ever mentioned sex in any capacity was to personally challenge people’s hearts, not to sanction them to impose their own preferences upon anyone else. It’s as simple as that.

…Professed Christians can continue to do what they’re doing to the gay community, but they can’t rightly pass the buck to Jesus.

That the Church is still preoccupied with waging war on the LGBTQ community and claiming that Christ compels them to do so, is one of the greatest and most sustained sins in our history—and it needs to stop.”

Sermon on the fountain

well, not really, but since I’ve been preaching a lot online, thought maybe this is a better place to do it.

ok, I get it now, it is a whole lot easier to make up a pretend god and do what he says because it is what you want to do rather than listen, learn, and be obedient to the REAL divine and do what the Holy Spirit, your Higher Self, your Soul, God, Goddess, ALL THAT IS tells you to do.

how many mistakes we made traveling with the OIM ministry, being rebellious. but when you obey, you have to do stuff you don’t really want to do, say stuff you do not really want to say. it is uncomfortable to surrender your will to the divine, forgive, love, a lot easier to judge others, be afraid and hate, and most people take the easy way out. except it is not really the easy way, filled with pain, strife, conflict, and disconnection. sad. very very sad. been there done it both ways. Jesus knew that it is a biotch

It has been a lot to process and deal with, all of these bathroom bills in NC, MS and other places plus all of the assaults upon women in ALABAMA and other southern states.

One real LIGHT this week was to read this TRULY Godly man’s blog. He speaks the truth and the phony baloney christians hate him for it. I feel truly blessed and he even made me cry, laugh, and just say BINGO, right on.

“I know that the loudest voices often carry the greatest weight, and right now those voices speaking for my faith tradition are heavy on acrimony and painfully short on compassion. Those voices reek of bigotry and entitlement and manufactured martyrdom. They speak with cruelty and malice and malevolence—but they do not speak for me.

I absolutely don’t believe they speak for Jesus either.”

I Believe Dinosaurs Existed, The Earth Is Old, Adam And Eve Weren't Real People—And That's Okay!

“You can be a Christian and…

– not believe that people born LGBTQ are inherently sinful because of that fact.

– trust much of what Science has revealed about the world and how it works.

– believe that Hell might not really exist.
– notice what appear to be contradictions in the Bible.
– believe that dinosaurs existed on a very, very old earth.
– not vote Republican…”

here are a few other choice tidbits

seems to me that trans / gay people are damned if they do and damned if they don’t with these bills.

For those that are all in a tizzy over “sharing” a bathroom with someone transgendered… When you see someone with a full beard, muscular upper body and no breasts entering the women’s restrooms or someone with a D-cup, wearing makeup, with no body hair and in high heels entering the men’s restroom, PLEASE remain calm. Don’t freak out. They are only using the restroom that coordinates with their birth certificate. Because this is exactly what you wanted, right??? And boy did you ever get your wish granted so you should be gracious about it

“That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is merely exposition.” –Rabbi Hillel 110 BCE-10 CE    so much for the OLD TESTAMENT… summed up by a highly esteemed and expert on the OT Rabbi

“for almost two millennia Bible believers have sought to entice small childrenthe desperate poor and the trusting by promising the kind of debased, tawdry everlasting life described above. They still do today. Selling shares in this Heaven is a multi-billion-dollar industry.

Crowns and white robes and streets of gold and angelic choruses are Christianity’s carrot, with the threat of eternal torture as the stick. Millions of people have lived and died, fearing one and anticipating the other, never noticing the sleight of hand—that they are two versions of the same thing”
